Lillia-N, born on the 10th of August 1972, as Lillian Swagemakers in Amsterdam. She was born to be the daughter of Petrus Johannes Swagemakers and Hetty van Gunst.
When Lillia-N was very young, she loved the songs made by the group ABBA. At home she used to perform for her family and when her act was over they always had to throw her some plastic- tulips, Only years later, music would play a great roll in Lillia-N’s life. At the age of 4, Lillian and her parents moved to a little place called IJsselstein(Utrecht). When she was 11 years old, they moved again, this time the family went to Lelystad(flevoland).
Being a 12 year old girl, Lillia-N came in touch with the music by Madonna. Although Madonna was already getting famous, Lillia-N never got the chance of hear any song till ”Borderline“. She really loved the song and tried to sing it along, when she thought their voices sounded alike. Lillia-N went to her father’s studio and took a little microphone and recorded her voice with the Madonna song, to be sure. When her parents got home she let them listen to it and it took them by surprise that it really sound the same. After that moment there was nothing that could change Lillia-N’s mind, she wanted to be a professional singer.
In her spare time after school, Lillia-N trained herself to be a good singer. Over more than 20 hours a week she did spent to practice her ability in singing and listened good to songs because she wanted to get her English right. She also concentrated on the way to speak English, its been always very important to Lillian to sing very clear, understandable and steady. Reaching the age of 17, Lillia-N took some private singing-lessons in Amsterdam to be more professional. She wanted to be sure she took good care of her voice and wanted to uplift her skills in using her voice as well.
After signing in for the Soundmixshow in Holland, she took the first step in performing live. Lillia-N performed to talent-scouting shows through whole the country. Always people were telling Lillia-N her voice was just like Madonna’s voice. Not able to get her some own music, Lillia-N started to write her own lyrics on instrumental versions made by famous artists, just to perform something of her own. Soon she got asked to perform in several discotheek’s and at the age of 22 she had her own karaoke-show.
When Lillian was 23 of age, she got acquainted with Wijnand Overeem. A few months later Lillia-N got in a car-accident and that changed her life, she couldn’t perform anymore for a long time. Wijnand helped Lillia-N in any way he could just like her family. That got her through a rough time.
Lillia-N couldn’t say goodbye to music, with her father, in the studio they recorded an album which never came out. Lillia-N performed the songs at the local scene.
Wijnand and Lillia-N, got married on December the 8th 2000 and became the proud parents of a son called Michel, born on August , 8th 2003.
In januari 2007, Lillia-N was asked to perform in a ringtone-commercial for MTV/TMF to be a Madonna-look-a-like. After that she came in touch with Made2dance Records, there she started to work as a studio-singer. Then a lot of different projects followed. At the end of 2007, Lillia-N got acquainted with Maurits Engelen, better known as Maurizzio. Maurizzio made some golden songs, one of his hits was; ”New Emotion“.
Together we made a few beautiful songs, to be exact:
”One More Chance“, ”My World“, and ”My Way Back Home“.
On these songs Lillia-N wrote all lyrics and melody lines to sing to.
Now-days Lillia-N is busy making songs with the Dutchboyz from Amsterdam, she will be performing in some shows next year in 2009. Through the Myspace.com, Lillia-N got in contact with a few artists, with who she’s working on some new material right now. In time we’ll let you know more about that.
